Background
Originally from Illinois, Hannant earned a Fine Arts degree from Missouri State University before relocating to New York City in 1988. There, he attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, worked on displays at Barney's and Bloomingdale's, and soon developed a flair for the luxurious: his first collection, launched in 1996, propelled him to the top of the New York fashion scene and Hannant soon became the darling designer of the jet-set crowd.
